Tourism only, applied for online or at the arrival counter, no sponsor. The ceiling is 60 days in total, extension included, and it does not convert into a long stay.

Five questions follow, then the visa that matches your situation.
The simulator crosses your stay length, your activity and your timeline to keep a single status — the one that actually holds on arrival.
You leave with a named status and its real duration, not with a table of thirty indexes to decipher.
Local sponsor, single entry, extension ceiling: the constraints that sink an application are flagged before you pay.
Every step has its window. You receive the dates to respect before departure and once on site.
Each index allows a precise duration and activity. An identical stay can fall under three different statuses depending on what you do there — that is where the mistake happens.
Tourism only, applied for online or at the arrival counter, no sponsor. The ceiling is 60 days in total, extension included, and it does not convert into a long stay.
Up to 180 days on a single entry: leaving the territory cancels the visa. Applied for online before departure, around five working days of processing, and an Indonesian sponsor is mandatory.
For employees and freelancers paid by a foreign entity, subject to documented income. Allows multiple entries and opens access to the temporary stay permit.
Covers business travel without local pay: meeting a supplier, visiting a plant, signing a contract. It allows neither work invoiced in Indonesia nor a job held on site.
Backed by a foreign-owned company and a minimum invested capital. It is the only framework for running a business registered in Indonesia, rental villas included.
To join a resident spouse or parent, or to settle in retirement subject to income conditions. After several renewals, the KITAP opens a five-year stay.
Holding a job in a local company requires an employment permit sponsored by that company, separate from every status above. No visit visa can stand in for it, even briefly.
Checks have intensified in Bali since 2023, in particular on villa rentals, coworking studios and guiding, coaching or photography work invoiced locally.
Paid work without a permit exposes you to a fine, to deportation and to a re-entry ban whose length is set by immigration.
Overstaying is charged per day of delay, and beyond two months it becomes a judicial procedure, not a simple fine.
Remote work for a foreign employer remains tolerated under certain conditions, but invoicing an Indonesian client changes both the category and the risk.
Two quick reading entries. They give the trend; the simulator settles the edge cases.
Travelling on a C1 without realising it is single entry, then taking a round trip to Singapore. The visa is void and you return on a VOA.
Filing the extension too late. It is submitted around two weeks before expiry, and the procedure requires a visit to the immigration office.
Getting the entry date wrong on the form. Validity runs from the declared date, not from the actual flight.
Paying on a site that imitates the official portal. The price there is two to three times higher and the visa is not always issued.
Staying beyond the expiry date. Every day of overstay is paid on departure, and a long period exposes you to an entry ban.
No. The visa on arrival status does not convert into a visit visa. You must leave the territory and return with the new visa already issued.
The e-visa must be used within 90 days of issuance. Beyond that it expires unused and is not refunded.
Working for a foreign employer from Indonesia falls under the E33G. The VOA and the C1 cover tourism and visits, not continuous professional activity.
An Indonesian resident individual or a locally registered company. That is why most travellers with no ties on site go through a licensed agency.
