Privacy policy

This page describes what Bali-Check collects when you use the site and the simulator, why, who processes it and the rights you hold over it.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Digital World Solutions LLC, the publisher of Bali-Check, whose details appear in the legal notice.

What we collect

  • Your six answers to the simulator: length of stay, departure date, activity, nationality, household and whether you want guidance. They describe a situation, not a person, and serve only to identify the matching status.
  • Your email address, if you choose to receive your roadmap by email. It is used once, to send that message.
  • If you choose WhatsApp, nothing leaves this site: WhatsApp opens on your own device with your answers already written out, and the conversation is held there. We never ask for your number.
  • Usage data: the pages you visit, the step of the simulator you reach, the button you use and the language you read in, together with a recording of your session in which what you type is masked.

Why we use it

  • To identify the status matching your stay and send you its roadmap, which is what you ask for when you submit your answers.
  • To measure how the site and the simulator are used and to improve them, which is our legitimate interest as a publisher.
  • To measure whether our advertising brings travellers who complete the simulator. On the email channel a hashed version of your address is passed to Google for this purpose; the address itself is never shared.

Who processes it

Nothing is passed to a third party beyond the providers below, who act on our instructions:

  • Resend, which delivers the roadmap email.
  • Google, through Tag Manager, Analytics and Ads, which measures the audience and the advertising.
  • Microsoft Clarity, which records sessions and draws heatmaps.

Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, under the safeguards the GDPR provides for such transfers.

How long we keep it

Bali-Check stores neither your answers nor your address once the roadmap has been sent; they remain only in the sending log of our email provider, for the limited time that provider keeps it. Usage data is kept for the retention period set in each measurement tool, then deleted or aggregated.

Cookies and trackers

The measurement tools above place cookies and similar identifiers in your browser to recognise a session. You can block them in your browser settings: the simulator and the roadmap work without them.

Your rights

You can ask to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to us at the address below; we answer within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country of residence.
